Spring 2020

February 2020

We held our 2nd 'Share a Story Morning'. Children and their parents came together to listen to The Gruffalo story being read by Mr Coath. We then took part in lots of fun Gruffalo activities. We are looking forward to the next Story Morning.

Science Week! The nursery children explored a science experiment everyday to support our Science Creativity Week. Our experiments included; creating a lava lamp from oil & food colouring. We also tried our hardest to use our huff and puff to blow up a rubber glove. Plus made a big mess with exploding milk! It was a lot of fun.

On the 7th February, the whole school took part in the NSPCC Number Day. We dressed up in mathematical fancy dress to support this event! There were lots of maths activities to explore as well.

January 2020

We started the new year with our new topic, Nursery Rhymes. We baked currant buns while singing 5 Currant Buns! They were delicious.

We also started our Forest School sessions. It was a very exciting start to the new term.

Autumn 2019

December 2019

Our Tea With Santa was so much fun! We all had a wonderful time this Christmas.

November 2019

We wore our pajamas to nursery to raise awareness of Children in Need. It was very funny! We even got to meet Pudsey at the end of the day!

October 2019

The nursery observed World Mental Health Day by taking part in a calming yoga session. The children had a wonderful time practising the different positions.

We all really enjoyed having our parents & carers at our story morning. We listened to Mr Coath read 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. We then took part in lots of caterpillar & butterfly activities!

September 2019

We have been welcoming our new friends to nursery. We have all been really great at helping everyone to settle in.

Summer 2019

Our brand new mud kitchen has been a big hit!

We have spent even more time outside this term, we have enjoyed exploring lots of loose parts to create our own games & play.

Spring 2019

The children have enjoyed the warmer weather and being able to play outside in the sunshine!

We  celebrated Pancake Day & World Book Day all in the same week. We had so much fun dressing up and getting to cook some yummy pancakes.

Our nursery turned one year old in January! Here are a few pictures of what we have been getting up to!

We made Gruffalo Crumble after reading 'The Gruffalo'. It is one of our favourites!

During Creativity Week, we read the story, 'How The Zebra Got Its Stripes'. We created our own zebras from junk and we created stripes using black paint & a marble. We had to be very careful and try to keep the marble in the tray. This tested our hand-eye coordination.

Autumn 2018

All through December we celebrated Christmas. We took part in lots of Christmas activities. These included: present wrapping, biscuit baking and making Christmas wreath's by drawing around our hands. We also had a Christmas Jumper day too.

During November, we explored the theme, 'Festivals of Light'. We looked at lots of Bonfire Night & Diwali photos as well as created our own fireworks from  toothbrushes & paint.

Singing & dancing is one of our favourite things to, especially copying actions from our smart board.

We carved our own pumpkin after exploring lots of Halloween activities.

During the Autumn term we have been exploring the season of 'Autumn'. We have had lots of different size pumpkins to explore on our investigation station, as well as pine cones, leaves and cinnamon. We used our fingers to create pictures of hedgehogs, acorns & pumpkins.

Summer Term 2018

We have had a lot of fun in the lovely sunny weather this half term. Our first ever sports morning was a huge success too.

The children at Northgate Nursery certainly enjoy messy play!

During the Summer Term we learnt about what jobs we might want to do when we grow up. Becoming a Fire Fighter was one of our favourite ideas!

  Spring Term 2018

We read the story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' and have been looking after our own caterpillars. We treat them very carefully and like to look at them through our magnifying glasses. We can't wait for them to become butterflies! Our caterpillars then grew and grew! When they became strong and healthy butterflies we released them into the sky.

We have really enjoyed learning outside in the many different weather conditions!

The children and staff were all very excited about our brand new nursery sign!

We had a lovely time at the PTA coffee morning.

We have all really enjoyed our first few weeks at our brand new nursery!
